New Shoes!

I finally got new shoes!

My old tennis shoes were falling apart so on Wednesday I went and got some new shoes.

For those of you who remember what happened to my old shoes on Thanksgiving, I can assure you that these shoes are much, much cleaner.

well, doesn't that beat all

First of all, let me start off saying that I'm not so fond of our district school board.

To begin with, they voted that are district should have to take 23 credit hours to graduate instead of the 22 that the rest of the state has to take. Luckily, they decided to re vote on it after one of the members got voted off and changed it back to 22.

Second, at one of the board meetings they named the new high school Campo Verde. Even after 500 people voted against that name they decided they would keep it that way rather than listen to the people.

They did, however, let the students vote on the color and mascot. Even though they did this, they didn't put any thought into how it would look. They just took the most popular color and the most popular animal choice and put it together.

We now are the Campo Verde (Green and Copper) Coyotes.

I don't mind the colors and I don't mind the mascot. What really gets me is that they are TOGETHER! I can tell you that coyotes are not copper and they are most definitely NOT GREEN!

Can't these people think!!!

Tests, Tests, and more Tests

Sometimes, I don't understand schools. I don't get why they all the teachers assign projects and give tests at the same time.

For instance, yesterday, I had a quiz in Science on physics and a quiz in Social Studies on World War II (1939-1941)(those were the years it was on). I did pretty well on both those tests.

Today, I had a math test on solving systems of equations. Well, I didn't finish in the class period, so I went back for lunch. She didn't put my test in the non-finished pile even though I gave it to her. I mean, she told us to give it to her if we WEREN'T DONE. She can't teach and she can't speak English. Can't she do anything right!

And tomorrow, I have a test in English on the Holocaust on stories we didn't even read. She just expects us to know about that when other kids teach. I mean, she's a teacher for a reason!

I'm really looking forward to that.

Inauguration Day

Well, its official. At noon today, even before he had taken his oath, Barack Obama became the next president of the United States. I can't say I'm happy, but it is a historical day nonetheless. He is our first African American president. It is impressive to think that not that long ago, slavery still existed.

While that is quite the feat, it doesn't make him a great President. Being a good President is determined on how he acts while in office and he has got a lot of decisions to make. He was left with the war in Iraq and our current economic situation.

I don't know how he will fix the economy. He probably should have used all the money spent on his inauguration to fix the problem. But his plan for taking the troops out of Iraq could be disaterous. I mean, I want to keep people safe as much as the next person, but it may not turn out how he plans. If the Iraqi people want to avenge themselves because we got involved, it could bring them here. That would kill so many more American people. I think the better choice would probably be to keep the troops in Iraq.

Let me tell you, if Barack Obama starts World War III I will be mad. And to tell you the truth, with all the controversey against him, I'm surprised that he hasn't been assasinated.

Blogging Nightmares!

Okay. Well, maybe not a nightmare, but it was pretty bad. I had to tell Brooklyn take control of the computer before I punched it. Probably worse for me than for the computer. Well, basically, I had my blog and I finally got everything done. I was so happy. Unfortunately, those feelings were dashed when I found out that it was under Brooklyn's google account. NOT COOL PEOPLE, NOT COOL.

But now,(Yea!) I actually made my OWN! :) Yipee for me!
